Abstract

Abstract

The distribution of internal stresses of the reinforcing ring assembling on a sewage disposal tower was analyzed by using the finite element method. The numerical results show that the reinforcing ring plays an important role to prevent the bulking of the combined shell from hydrostatic pressure and to provide a reliable structure strength when its transversal area is larger than 45 cm².
