Corrosion Severity Assessment of Reinforcing Steel in Concrete by Using Three Electrochemical Factors

  • A method named EIR Method is introduced, which makes use of corrosion potential, corrosion current and concrete resistivity to assess the corrosion severity of reinforcing steel. It ameliorates the veracity of some standards such as ASTM C 876-91, and has been successfully used to estimate the corrosion severity of reinforcing steel in concrete in a famous building in Beijing.
