Mechanism of Ziggag Grain Boundary Formation in Wrought Nickelbase Superalloys

  • Kinetic Process of zigzag grain boundary formation (ZGBF) in wrought nickel-base superalloys has been investigated.It was shown that the major phase of ZGBF is depended on the nature of alloys and parameters of heat treatment (temperature, cooling rate and so on), when two phases(γ', M6C or M23C6) are coexisted at grain boundary.Two models are presented in this paper:one is used in ZGBF with two phases, the other is used to describe migration of (a segment) grain boundary.
