Water model on a tundish for electromagnetic purification

摘要: 為了得到電磁凈化中間包中流體的流動及傳輸特性,以及旋轉運動在中間包凈化鋼液中所起的作用,采用中間包物理模擬方法,對電磁凈化中間包中不同控流裝置配置和旋轉速度下的停留時間分布曲線進行了測試,并對流場進行了顯示實驗.結果表明:電磁凈化中間包圓形腔中的旋轉運動能夠減小中間包中滯留區分數,增加活塞區比例,同時增長平均停留時間,有利于中間包內夾雜物的去除;但旋轉速度不是越高越好,存在一個最佳值.Abstract: The effect of rotary motion on the fluid flow and the mixing characteristics in a tundish for electromagnetic purification were studied by a physical modeling method. The visualization of flow pattern and the measurement of residence time distribution (RTD) were performed under different rotation speeds and geometric configurations. The result shows that rotational flow in the cylindrical chamber can effectively decrease the dead volume and increase the plug volume. Meanwhile, the mean residence time is prolonged thereby promoting the removal of inclusions. The flow characteristics do not become better with the rise of rotation speed, but there exists an optimum value.
