Effect of photo-radiation on anti-corrosion and protection performance of acrylic polyurethane coating

摘要: 以氙燈為光源,對丙烯酸聚氨酯涂層/碳鋼體系進行人工加速老化實驗,用傅里葉變換紅外光譜儀(FTIR)、光學顯微鏡和光澤儀對老化的涂層進行分析表征,用鹽霧實驗測試涂層老化后的防腐性能,初步探討了光輻射對涂層保護性能的影響.結果表明,不同老化周期的體系在鹽霧實驗后,表面涂層的保護狀態均基本完好,但膜下金屬腐蝕程度隨老化時間的增加而加劇.其原因是:光輻射使涂層中C—N鍵斷裂,且隨老化時間的延長,涂層表面粗糙程度增加,光澤度下降;涂層化學結構及表面狀態的變化加速了腐蝕介質在涂層中的滲透,從而導致膜下金屬腐蝕加重.Abstract: To evaluate the aging behavior of acrylic polyurethane coating/carbon steel system, an artificial accelerated aging test was carded out with the aid of a xenon lamp. The aged coatings were characterized with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), optical microscope and vancometer. The corrosion resistance of the aged coatings was evaluated by salt spray test, and the effect of photo-radiation on the corrosion of the metal underneath the coating was investigated preliminary. The results show that the coatings with different aging periods all keep good protection state after salt spray test. However, the metal underneath the coating is corroded more severely with the increase of aging time. It can be concluded that the C-N bond of the coating breaks after the exposure to photo-radiation, which causes the increase in surface roughness and the decrease in gloss with the increase of aging time. Furthermore, these surface changes build the access to the underneath metal, which accelerates the penetration of medium into the coating and therefore makes the metal corrode severely.
