Steel Refining by Magnesium Injection and its Influence on Steel Quality

摘要: 由于鎂對鋼的脫氧、脫硫、凈化鋼水及轉變夾雜物形態的良好作用,近年來許多冶金工作者致力于加鎂精煉鋼水的研究工作,但因在冶金溫度下鎂的蒸汽壓很高,而其在鋼水的溶解度又極小,加入困難,這方面的研究多歸于失敗。本文利用阿亨大學熱力學數據庫計算了以氬作為載氣噴鎂的脫氧、脫硫作用,以及壓力和氬量對其影響,通過實驗制定了行之有效的噴吹工藝,選擇了合適的控制參數。
在1-3大壓下,氬量為0.1-0.3N.L/m:n,可以向鋼水成功地噴入鎂。經過鎂精煉的鋼水,氧含量可降至4ppm,硫含量降至10ppm,氧化物及硫化物的評級均為0級,其尺寸均在5μm之下。隨著噴鎂量的增加(鋼水重量的0.062至%0.56%),夾雜物中鎂的氧化物及硫化物量增加,夾雜物總量減少且呈球形,此種夾雜物在熱形變中不變形。因此在通常材料中所存在的各向異性完全消失,特別是缺口沖擊韌性橫向性能值提高了2~3倍。文章對材料在不同溫度下的沖擊韌性、過渡溫度及斷口夾雜物的形態進行了研究和論述。Abstract: Recentl man metallurgists heve been working with steel refining by using maganesium as deoxidizer and desflfurizer which also leads to better morphology of nonmetallic inclusions. That it might be very difficult to add maganesium in was the reason for the previous works to fail. The trouble is that the partial pressure of maganesium is very high at the melting temperatures and at the same time its solubility in the liquid steel is rather small. In this article, the effect of injecting Mg-powder on deoxidation and desulfurization by using Ar-gas as carrier based on thermcdynamic data stove in Aachen university and the effects of the pressure and flow of Ar-gas on the technology mentioned above have been calculated. The effective injecting technology was determined experimeutally and the appropriate controlling parameters were chosen.
Maganesium can be successfully insected into the liquid steel at 0.1~0.3NL/min of Ar-gas flow under 1-3 atm. The oxygen content was decreased to 4ppm in the liquid steel to be refined. The sulfur content 10ppm. The graduation of oxides and sulfides was 0-grade. This sizes are less than 5μm. Mg-oxides and sulfides in the inclusions were increased with the increase of amount of injecting maganesium. However the total amount of inclusions were decreased and the shape appears as sphere. The inclusions remain unchanged shape during hot deformation. The anisotropic characteristic which usually exists in materials disappeared completely especially the notch-impact toughness at the transverse direction was increased by 2-3 times. The impact toughness at the different temperatures the transition temperatures and the inclusion shapes on the fractures for the materials to be refine 1 were also discussed. -
